adBrite to Close Down on Feb. 1- Once Called "Google Adsense Alternative"

One of the largest independent online ad exchange company,  AdBrite, will shut down on February 1, 2013, said by an email sent by adBrite to all of its publishers and advertisers in yesterday, reported by Techcrunch, AllthingsD, and it's already updated on Wikipedia's records.

Here's the email sent to Advertisers:

Dear adBrite Advertiser,

Over the last few weeks, adBrite and its management have been evaluating the go-forward plan for the business. Given market conditions and certain financial liabilities, in working with our lenders, we have decided to cease operations on Feb 1, 2013.

This is a difficult decision for all of us at adBrite. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients and partners who helped build this business. There will be a team in place as needed to assist with winding down your campaign, and final reporting and invoicing.

Thank you for being part of the adBrite community.

In 2004, AdBrite launched as an advertising network, and then in 2008 as an ad exchange. It reached more than 160 million U.S. unique visitors each month in the past, and it claims it's "the largest independent ad exchange offering an entirely transparent marketplace, direct access to superior campaign data and analytics and ultimately, greater control over what matters most – results."

AdBrite was considered as a good Alternatives to Google Adsense by some publishers, who provides text Ads, banner Ads, interstitial Ads as well as in-text or inline Ads. Text Ads is CPC based, banner ads can be paid on either CPC or CPM basis.

AdBrite payout is in net-60 term, which is much longer than most of other companies - commonly net-30 payout.

Now it's time for AdBrite publishers to find out another AdBrite Alternative.
